More Alternative Magazine Adverts (Draft Copy)

Here is another alternative idea that I created, of a one page spread for a magazine advertisement. For this particular ad, we decided to use the same colour theme and pictures as we previously used. As we absolutely loved the colour combination, and it also correlates with our DigiPak extremely well.

Miley Cyrus Digipak Research

Outfit Post

For our second day of filming, Abbie and I travelled up to London. We went to two locations, one  being Oxford Circus in London, where by we got the shots of the jacket lifting up across my shoulders. In this image I am wearing a light grey faux fur jacket, this is from Miss Guided costing £60. In the shots of Gods Own Junkyard, I am also seen wearing the same jacket. However this was only for digipak pictures, as well as wearing a disco sequin halter neck top from Pretty Little Thing, priced at £18. On my bottom half I was wearing basic black jeans from Topshop priced at £36.

Costume Day 2

As a group we decided to alternate the costume choices for each location so that our intended audience remains captivated. The mesh graphic top is from river island, the jeans are from New Look, the hoop earrings are from Primark and the white converse are from Office. All of which are readily available stores that stock the products frequently, if you would like to recreate this look yourself.

An Update On Filming

Today we decided to have a sit down discussion, on what we are going to film over our next few days of filming. All of the green highlighted shots can be done locally, however the blue highlighted shots must be done further afield in London. All of the London based shots will have to be taken place over a couple of days of shooting, this is due to the fact that there are some places such as Gods Own Junkyard that are only open on the weekends.

Filming Schedule For Day 1 (new idea)

Its very important when we go to film that we stick to this schedule! This is because it will keep us on track and will make the most of time we have, aiming to get a lot of filming done. Also preplanning our train time journeys will make sure we focus on what we need to do in order to get on the right  train. This will lead to a very happy day of filming.

Problems We Faced When Editing

This week as a group we decided to begin the editing process, this is what caused us to change our song. This is because we decided to put our filmed content into Final Cut Pro and quickly realised that our vision wasn't being executed well. A number of problems we faced is that the shots were not what we imagined and not to the standard that as a group we personally would like, the angles were not quite right and as a result when coming to edit together it didn't fit chronologically and did not appear realistic for the audience. Therefore when put into a sequence it barely reached 15 seconds worth of content and we made the decision to change our song due to the fact that we couldn't create a music video in quality and length with this restricted idea.

Updating Our Social Media Accounts

It is important for us as a group to keep our audience updated, on everything. We found that the easiest way to keep our target audience engaged is to use social media sites. Mainly Instagram and twitter. As these are the social media sites that our target audience primarily use. As you can see, we have uploaded pictures and videos of how filming is going, for example behind the scene shots. Additionally in our Instagram bio, we are planning on putting a link to our YouTube account where our Vlogs are.

Our First Day Of Filming!

Filming Day 1

Outfit Post 1

This is our first outfit we constructed together as a group for our beginning locations, this costume choice reflects our message and story line as it is simplistic and minimal. Our character is suffering as she has lost a loved one and is going through the grieving process, therefore we wanted our outfit choices to be basic and not loud and distracting for the audience. It also fits the weather we are presenting in our music video, as it will create the atmosphere of being cold and isolated. This is why we chose a basic grey hoodie, simple black jeans, a denim jacket and white trainers.

'How we communicate as a group'

One of the best ways we communicate as a group outside of school is through a group chat we created. These screenshots show how we use this to further our coursework, whether that's to recommend potential song choices, learning about new editing techniques or to provide a list of media rich tools to make our blog the best it possibly can be. Creating a group chat is a simple but effective way to help us succeed as we are investing our own extra time as well as school time into our final product.

Mood Board

This is a mood board of our initial ideas,  as a group we have decided to make our music video full of quirky and different ideas and locations. By this we mean that we do not want to use the 'typical' locations that other students usually use, such as touristy attractions e.g the London Eye and the underground. As you can see throughout this mood board, we are planning on our artist wearing alternative costumes, for example sequin skirts and furry coats.

Company Logo

As a group we have created this logo to symbolise our company. We wanted it too look bold and incorporate bright colours to encapsulate a care free vibe and to fit in to our pop genre.
